Cpl. Fred Smith is a Canadian Armed Forces veteran who saw a need to assist other veterans in need and, as a result, founded Veterans Helping Veterans. Located in the Halton Region, Veteran Helping Veteran. (VHV) is a Canadian registered charity under the laws of the province of Ontario formed in 2016.

The mission of VHV is to support Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police veterans and their families that may be in distress with advisory services in order to facilitate an honourable resolution to their current issues.
